Distribution maps for amphibian and turtles.

These maps were generated from records compiled in the Maine Aquatic Biodiversity Project database. Most data were provided by Maine Dept. of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, and include records from the Maine Amphibian and Reptile Atlas Project (MARAP). Records are summarized by township
because data from the MARAP database are georeferenced only at the township level. Towns with records for each species are indicated in red. Yellow-shaded polygons indicate towns from which records of other amphibian/reptile species are available.

The maps of predicted current species distributions were generated by the Maine GAP project, using species habitat models and GIS landscape data. See Key References for pertinent bibliographic information.
